Breastfeeding Congress at The Medical City

Breastfeeding advocates and health professionals would find a lot of things useful and relevant at the two-day “What Every Physician Needs to Know About Breastfeeding” course at The Medical City in Pasig City. Sponsored by the Philippine Pediatric Society, Inc. and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine in cooperation with The Medical City Department of Pediatric Section of Lactation, the breastfeeding congress happens this September 15 and 16, 2016. breastfeeding congress

The two-day event features a formidable roster of speakers including Arthur Eidelman, MD, Professor Pediatrics (Emeritus) at the Hebrew University School of Medicine; Eyla G. Boies, MD, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California; Lauren E. Hanley, MD, Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital; and Joan Younger Meek, MD, Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education at The Florida State University College of Medicine.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: Why Breastfeed? Risks of Not Breastfeeding; The Process of Breastfeeding: Anatomy and Physiology; Baby Friendly: The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding; Prenatal Care and Management of Labor; Management of Breastfeeding Post Deliver; Breastfeeding and Maternal Medications; Managing Infant Complications; Managing Maternal Complications; and Breastfeeding the Late Preterm Infant.
