Perfect for the Whole Family: C.S. Lewis' The Horse and His Boy
The fifth story in “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “The Horse and His Boy” takes place in Calormen where a young orphan named, Shasta, and a captured Narnian horse named, Bree, ride north to escape a life of slavery and servitude. Along the way, they meet a young aristocrat, Aravis, and her Narnian horse, Hwin, and together, they go through all sorts of exciting adventures.
Trumpets President Audie Gemora says, “Trumpets has always been at the forefront of family-oriented fantasy productions: "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe," "Little Mermaid," and "Bluebird of Happiness." Now comes its latest offering, an original epic adventure based on another beloved book from C.S. Lewis’ "The Chronicles of Narnia." As always, expect a great ride!”
Adapting the book into a play was quite a challenge says writer Luna Griño-Inocian. She explains, “You want to retain the spirit of the story, stay true to the words of the author, yet have to give it a more dramatic twist... This adaptation is not a musical, so that the words and dialogue will be given more emphasis. But it will have music. In fact, it will be heavily scored and it will even have a theme song.”
Directed by Jaime del Mundo, "The Horse and His Boy" features a talented cast led by Reb Atadero as Shasta and Joel Trinidad as Bree. The other cast members include Mako Alonso, Gab Medina, Raymund Concepcion, Jeremy Domingo, Randy Villarama, Justine Peña, Nic Campos, Chesko Rodriguez, Maronne Cruz, George Schulze, Edrei Tan, Matthew Barbers, Pamela Imperial, Chino Veguillas, Vincent Pajara, Arya Herrera, and Jhay Dela Cruz.
