Sharing Mindfulness


It was very much like a gathering of old friends. When moms who attended the first Mindful Mom Re-Treat found themselves in each other's company once again at Earth Kitchen in Katipunan, the conversation went from friendly to intimate in a matter of seconds. There was just so much to share with fellow moms on a journey to mindfulness, and so much to learn still about staying true to its principles. More than a dozen months after the first re-treat, Mommy Mundo has come out with Mindful Mom Re-Treat 2.0. Designed exclusively for Mindful Mom Re-Treat Alumni, the purpose of the re-treat is to take moms into a deeper understanding of intentional living. Apart from a discussion of the participants' current state of mindfulness, there was also an assessment of the qualities, characteristics, and support system which help them manage everyday struggles. At the end of the workshop, moms were encouraged to share their mindfulness practice to their loved ones so that they too may benefit from living with passion and purpose.

It was a reunion of sorts for these mommies as some them had already met each other through the Mindful Mom Re-Treat workshop.

The moms conscientiously answered their worksheets, wanting to make the most out of their time to get in touch with their selves.

Mindful Mom Re-Treat 2.0 was facilitated by registered family psychologist Michele S. Alignay. Sponsored by Belo Baby and PLDT Home, the retreat is a takeoff from Mommy Mundo’s award-winning Mom Manifesto campaign in 2015. It was conceptualized and created by Mommy Mundo Founder Janice Villanueva, in collaboration with Alignay and Mommy Mundo Content Head Jing Lejano.
